Wildwood

We are camping this weekend at Wildwood in Wading River. We has rice and beans, Smores and the extra marshmallows for good measure. 


Kids made a friend, Jake. Hes also 9 and camping in a nearby site. They ran around and had LOTS of fun. 

After all that, Dylan asked to go watch the sunset on the beach. We walked down and missed true sunset but had some amazing views. 


Tomorrow we have lots planned in the area. We will strawberry pick, have lunch with grandma (at campsite) and maybe go to the beach.

Today we trekked out of Monument Valley and headed east. We visited 4 Corners, a place Sarah has wanted to go for 30 years.   Next, we went to Cortez CO, where we set up camp for the night. We had a yummy lunch at The Farm Bistro and swam for about 2 hours. We ran into someone who was "with" us at Monument Valley and they told us to see Mesa Verde because its so close and really pretty. It did not disappoint.

Busy day!

We started the day with banana chocolate chip pancakes.  We then went strawberry picking. We May have eaten as much as we picked.  After, grandma came for lunch and then we played on the beach for an hour. Bacon and eggs for dinner, then Smores with our new friends.  It's been a busy but fun day!!

What a day! We've been having a,blast touring and...swimming. Today we woke up early and drove to Mt Rushmore. The kids were amazed. They loved it. We saw plaques for all the states and territories. Found NY! After Mt Rushmore, we HAD to visit Crazy Horse. I swear, the kids didnt think it was real! When we pulled up they shouted that theyve heard of it on NatGeo. They were very excited. It looked different than when Stefanie and I went 11 years ago. Of course, no trip is complete without a visit,to the air and space museum. And naturally, we ended the day with 6 hours of swimming. 😳
