Washington

Take 2.... I tried posting this earlier but the app deleted everything I said. So lets try again.
Anyway!

Yesterday, we spent the day driving from Montana to Washington. We saw lots of wheat, wheat, wind turbines, wheat..,,you get the gist of it. While driving, we saw a big colorful bus. Its known as "thatnwbus" and was really cool. The kids got to spraypaint and we got to geocache!
We continued on our journey, driving lots. Finally we ended up in Starbuck WA. A small....town? Population 137. You decide what to call it. It was beautiful, and full of wheat farms. The temperature was 103 at 5pm (and rising). It was too hot and sunny to cook, so we drove to "nearby" Walla Walla.
It took about an hour to get there. We got Taco Bell and ate in the car in the parking lot, so we could stay cool. After dinner, we did some more geocaching and staring at wheat fields.

We drove back towards Starbuck and went to Palouse Falls State Park. Three was an epic waterfall and we saw the sunset on our way out.

We finally got some sleep in the 80+ heat, and the next day (today) drove to western Washington. Along the way, shortly after we left, on the interstate, a lovely gentleman passing us grabbed our attention and was pointing up. We figured immediately that there was an issue with the rooftop carrier. Sure enough, the front unlatched. No big deal, it barely opened. When we arrived in Bay Center, however, we discovered that the tarp flew out! Not a big deal, but Dylan's sleeping bag also flew out! That was a bigger deal. So we had to get him a new one after setting up camp. 🤷

We are spending two nights in Bay Center. Tomorrow we'll go to Astoria, which is where several films and TV shows were filmed. Among them are Sarah's favorite (and the reason to make it a stop on our trip), The Goonies.
